Note: This site is helpful because this organization has been around since 1938 and is essentially the "back story" for NCGR and Mountain Astrologer, and pretty much any current American group or publication in the field. The site is a bit sparse, but they are a good representative of 'old school' astrology.

Note: This site's purpose is to promote and develop the works of Marc Edmund Jones, perhaps best noted for "The Sabian Symbols" which he co-authored with Elsie Wheeler. His writings are extraordinary for their even-handedness regarding 'good' and 'bad' indicators, and for providing meaningful overviews of the native horoscope. Every professional I know has carefully studied his works.

Note: Through his organization, the Archive for the Retrieval of Historical Astrological Texts (ARHAT), his own works and lectures, Rob continues to explore and integrate ancient, medieval and modern astrological techniques. He brings to this work his long public career and his even longer private studies into the depths of Western philosophy, with some adventures into the East.

Note: "The main focus of Project Hindsight has been the restoration of the astrology of the Hellenistic period (300 B.C.E. to about 600 C.E.)." Through the contributions of a variety of translators, led by Robert Schmidt, an extensive library of ancient - and relevant - texts from this period are now available. Robert's written and spoken commentaries on these are invaluable and sometimes priceless!

Note: Quite simply - my Teacher. I met Anthony in 1967 within weeks of the opening of his bookstore, and knew immediately I'd found what I didn't know I had been looking for. Besides revealing the magical power of astrology as a philosophic tool as well as a practical guide, Anthony taught the value - and the skill - of deep and careful study companioned with individual creativity. At once respectful and skeptical, his original mind and exquisite heart pierced to the essence of philosophy. His published works can be found at www.larsonpublications.org; Astronoesis and Standing in Your Own Way are must reads.

Note: My Teacher's Teacher, and a Sage as well! I met PB in 1974 in Switzerland, and worked for him for the better part of 1979. There is little to say which can convey the subtle Power and Grace of his presence. A prolific writer, an inveterate traveler, PB called himself a "Researcher" - a title he refused to elaborate upon. PB's writings contain a blend of scholarship and intuition which is elusively accessible: no matter how much one learns (of life and dogmas), this remains so - which is a sure mark of Shruti. His two early books, Search in Secret India and Search in Secret in Egypt are guides for the mystic and the occultist; his "Notebooks" (summarized in Perspectives) are aids to the philosopher, maps to the student, and solace to the weary.

Note: The stature, attainment, and contributions of His Holiness are self-evident, and the world continues to roll along in great part through his efforts and presence. One of his lesser tasks has been to provide assistance to Anthony's students from time to time, for which we are all deeply grateful and happy! He is the world's greatest public treasure; do whatever it takes to spend a little time - or a lot - in His presence, be it in a crowded lecture-hall or on a windy hill in Dharamsala. Also - take a moment and add the Tibetan people's plight to your pledges and prayers.
