In my quest to assimilate the teachings of Paul Brunton (PB), Anthony Damiani, and Âdi-Shankara,
I have studied many of the texts of Hinduism, Kashmir Shaivism, Platonism, Neo-Platonism, and a few
other
odds and ends as well.
Jnana Documents
Here I offer my own translations and commentaries on some of these texts, together with some observations of their relevance to our modern spiritual lives. Some of the longer works are for sale as downloads or hardcopy.
The
Jñâna Texts Include:
•
The Mâñd:ûkyopanis:ad: This
is a 250 page analysis and
commentary on the first 7 verses of the Mâñd:ûkyopanis:ad,
focusing on the four states of consciousness as mystical and metaphysical
principles. Special attention is given to the sacred geometry presented
in these verses, and to the insertion of Îshvara between Prâjña
and Turîya.
Mandukyopanishad
•
Yoga Sutras: This
is a complete translation of the Yoga Sutras of Patañjali.
I see this work as a collection of "koans" for meditation more than as a
rigid set of "rules to live by," and have translated each verse accordingly.
